Hello, soon to be bride or groom!

Chris Aram Photography was voted a Best of Weddings 2011 pick. Thank you to my fantastic brides and grooms!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm Chris Aram, and this is my personal blog, which is mostly what happens when I'm behind a lense doing what I really enjoy: making awesome pictures, capturing awesome moments and working with awesome people!

Speaking of awesome things I enjoy, I am happily married to my beautiful wife and really enjoy spending time with her, our two children and our family and friends. Throw in a little PS3, music and eating (too much sometimes), and you've got a pretty good idea of what I like to do.

If you're interested in working with me, please don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail at chrisaram@hotmail.com or by phone at 614.973.9599.

Please check out my full online portfolio for more details!

Beginning with a Single Step

December 1, 2007

I love photography, but up until today, I’d never really experienced it firsthand. I enjoy creative expression in so many forms and today I had a blast getting my first “hands-on” with my brand-new digital SLR Nikon D40x. I’ve never owned more than a very basic point-and-shoot, and am/was excited not only to have such a powerful camera, but more importantly to spend a Saturday afternoon learning how to use it to its full potential (even if that knowledge is mostly theoretical in my hands at this point) under the guidance of some greats.

I went shooting with a friend from work, Adam, and two of his friends, one of whom is going to be our wedding photographer (Danny Heinlein–check him out at www.dwphotoz.com and you will understand why I aspire to his skills.) The third, Clint, I hadn’t met, but all three are very easy to get along with and immensely talented photographers. Without a doubt, I learned more in two hours today shooting with these guys than I would’ve in a week on my own.

Here are some of my favorites of the more than 200 I took:

I myself buy from and would recommend the following camera retailers to any one! They offer good prices and top shelf service. In particular, both Adorama and B&H are great resources for learning and I've always found their staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I'd so appreciate it if you use the links below to begin shopping; it won't cost you an extra cent but I'll earn a small commission which will allow me to spend more time answering your questions and helping others!
