Hello, soon to be bride or groom!

Chris Aram Photography was voted a Best of Weddings 2011 pick. Thank you to my fantastic brides and grooms!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm Chris Aram, and this is my personal blog, which is mostly what happens when I'm behind a lense doing what I really enjoy: making awesome pictures, capturing awesome moments and working with awesome people!

Speaking of awesome things I enjoy, I am happily married to my beautiful wife and really enjoy spending time with her, our two children and our family and friends. Throw in a little PS3, music and eating (too much sometimes), and you've got a pretty good idea of what I like to do.

If you're interested in working with me, please don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail at chrisaram@hotmail.com or by phone at 614.973.9599.

Please check out my full online portfolio for more details!

Engagement Pictures (Again)

February 27, 2008

So I got the disc of all of our pics taken during our engagement shoot from Danny, and got a little time to look through them. Here are some of my favs that Danny hasn’t already posted (he took the pics and I, in some cases, touched them up a little.) These photos really speak a lot about us: namely, that we are two huge dorks together. Besides sharing our obsession with pizza (we’ve had it as many as four times in one week for dinner), having fun with Toni is one of my favorite things about her. I could go on about many others, but as far as the pictures go …

Left below, she is telling me not to wrinkle my forehead (I do that when I look up) and is forcibly smoothing it out. We didn’t get any pictures of her correcting my posture.

This last shot is one of my early attempts at experimenting with textures. Frankly it did not turn out very well IMO, but I am still working on this kind of technique …

Happy Wednesday!

Random Pictures

February 13, 2008

In keeping with the theme of my recent “traffic” post …

My latest culinary obsession stacked neatly on my otherwise tornadic desk: Campbell’s canned soups. Beef Stew and Turkey Pot Pie are the bomb. Cheap, filling and surprisingly delicious. I’ll be doing a commerical with Donovan McNubb sometime soon …

Testing out the 105mm macro (loaner courtesy of Danny) for the first time, with a handwritten message for Toni!

Our engagement pictures look phenomenal, if you haven’t checked them out already.

It’s been a long day and I am gonna get to vegging, maybe set up my Xbox 360 after getting it back from Microsoft for repairs. Later on,

Chris

Engagement Pictures!

February 10, 2008

The big day came and went, and we had a lot of fun with Danny shooting our engagement pictures down in Galveston. The weather was perfect–clear skies and temperatures in the mid 70s–and time really flew by.

And Toni looked amazing if I do so say so myself!

This is Why I Love Houston

February 7, 2008

Houston has a lot going for it. Really. Great food, good culture, nice people, lots to do … well, not a lot, but enough. Did I mention the great food? I had Nit Noi’s for lunch today; pretty much the greatest Thai food I’ve ever had. Beef pad thai to die for.

Houston has a lot of something else: traffic. And concrete. Man, do I hate sitting in traffic staring at a bunch of ugly concrete. Little else can ruin my day, afternoon or evening like driving the seven miles from our house to the Park and Ride in a blistering 45 minutes.

Fortunately, I have a lot of time to think about things while I fritter my life away in gridlock, and something I’ve been thinking about all week was taking some pictures that capture my frustration. The prospect of doing so has actually made sitting in traffic fun … if only for a little while. I took a few shots today but did not manage to capture the one I have really been visualizing. I’d like to experiment with texturing some of these photos as well. Maybe I’ll catch that perfect shot tomorrow … but hopefully I won’t have the chance to.
