My wife works with little Kealy’s daddy Terry, and so he and his wife Shandra invited me to their beautiful home this last weekend to take a few pictures. She was alternately very sleepy and very fussy and yet made the whole gamut of expression so extremely precious as only a not-quite-newborn baby can. Here are a few of my favorites:
How this is comfortable, only Kealy knows. But she loves to lay her head on her mama’s shoulder this way.

When shooting portraits, I try to envision my desired result as I prepare to work. Lighting, lens selection, angles, compositions and all of it coming together. So when my friend Brian and I talked about shooting with he and his wife Maria’s newborn baby girl, I had a vision of working with Erica, only a few weeks old – beautiful, blissful, sleeping. I guess Erica was on board with the beautiful part 
– she is absolutely precious and amazing. But the blissful, sleeping bit? Yeeeahhh, not so much. Fiery personality? Check. 
The best laid plans … and all of that … we worked with Erica in between mom and dad taking turns holding her and feeding her . Here are a few of my favorites:
