Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm Chris Aram, and this is my personal blog, which is mostly what happens when I'm behind a lense doing what I really enjoy: making awesome pictures, capturing awesome moments and working with awesome people!

Speaking of awesome things I enjoy, I am happily married to my beautiful wife and really enjoy spending time with her, our newborn son and our family and friends. Throw in a little PS3, music and eating (too much sometimes), and you've got a pretty good idea of what I like to do.

If you're interested in working with me, please don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail at chrisaram@hotmail.com or by phone at 614.973.9599.

It’s 11:21 PM … Do You Know Where Your Pictures Are?

July 28, 2010

If you’re wondering where … well, they’re a-comin’. I promise. I’ve been working into the early morning just about every day this week and am nearly delirious from lack of sleep and excessive caffeine intake, but I don’t tell you this to elicit your pity. :) I love what I do, even if it means I spend less time at Bedside Baptist than I would like to.

I’ve been finishing processing a buncha’ beautiful weddings, engagement shoots and designing a few albums to boot; I hope to blog each and every one within the next few weeks. So until then, because every post is better with a picture, here’s a favorite from my recent shoot with Selvi and Lamar … an awesome, fun couple who made it an equally awesome, fun shoot:

Be back soon. :D

Jenna and Andy : Married!

July 8, 2010

Jenna and Andy are such a sweet couple. Not only do they look great together ;-) but there is a profound spirit of kindness and love for one another, a quality that felt so obvious to me throughout the time we spent together. :D It’s hard to put into words! I was privileged to photograph their beautiful wedding ceremony at Emmanuel Catholic Church in downtown Dayton, OH, and the reception that followed at the Roberts Center in Wilmington.

Where words fail me, I like to think that my camera doesn’t. And since I was there to photograph their wedding and not talk about it, shall we look at some pictures?

Yes, we shall. :D

As your wedding photographer, I am *very* partial to the first look. And I do understand not wanting to see each other until you walk down the aisle in front of your guests! Really, I do get it. But not only is a private first look an opportunity to see each other in an arguably more intimate setting, it’s also a great opportunity for some awesome photos. That’s my two cents on the topic ;-) – and here is Jenna and Andy’s first look:

I had a blast shooting your wedding, Jenna and Andy! Thank you for making me a part of your special day together; congratulations again and a lifetime of love to you both! :)

Kaylee and Eli : Married!

July 7, 2010

I first met Kaylee and Eli via email when introduced by her brother Kevin, whom my wife works with. What a small world! They live in Pittsburgh but were married at the beautiful Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley, with the reception following at the Venue at Smith Brothers.

Yeesh, where to begin? I had an absurdly difficult time choosing pictures to blog; there were just too many. Kaylee and Eli are just fun together. They are such fun people and a fun couple! More than their beautiful relationship and their family and friends who shared in their wedding day, I also loved every detail of the celebration – from the beautiful venues, to the flowers, the table settings, the menu, (with mucho credit to Amy Dison for masterfully coordinating it all! Brides and grooms, drop her a line – you will be so glad you did!)

Finally, as a photographer, I like that Kaylee and Eli chose to devote some extra time to shooting a few portraits together (more on this in a future post.) If I could encourage every couple that I work with … this is time well spent! It isn’t every day you’ll look this great together and it’s worth taking a few extra minutes to remember it by! :D

Is it picture time now? Yes, it is. Look, and be glad.

Congratulations and a lifetime of love to you both, Kaylee and Eli! I had an awesome time at your wedding! :D

Trillion and Barrett : Married!

July 6, 2010

You might remember Trillion and Barrett from their stellar engagement session. But if you don’t, the word “genuine” is all you really need to know. I was privileged to document their wedding day and I couldn’t help but feel the sincere warmth that permeates everything these two share with each other and their families and friends. And as it turns out, they can tear up the dance floor as well. :D

These are just a few of my favorites from their amazing wedding day. Enjoy!

Congratulations to you both, Trillion and Barrett, and I wish you an awesome lifetime of love and happiness together!

An Unexpected “Portrait”

July 6, 2010

Immediately after Jenna and Andy said “I do” and walked down the aisle together as husband and wife, they grabbed another kiss just inside the front door to the church. Luckily for me, I plan for the unplanned. This sweet, spontaneous and emotional moment rivals any of the portraits we took together that day and is an instant favorite of mine. ;-)

Jenna and Andy

Stay tuned for the rest of their wedding ;-)
