Will I receive a disc of all original, high-resolution images?
Yes! My approach is that you are paying me for time and skill, both behind the camera and in processing your images. Once I've completed that, you shouldn't (and don't) have to pay me for the pictures too! So it's important to me that I give you the freedom to print your pictures when, where and how you please and that you're not charged any extra for it!
Please allow 2-3 weeks after the completion of your wedding event for your pictures to be posted online – once you've approved the proofs, please allow another week to receive the disc.
When considering your wedding photographer, that is potentially an important catch to be aware of, so be sure to ask what his or her policy is.
Do you offer online proofing and print order?
Yes. Simply go to prints.chrisaram.com and select your gallery(ies).
Please allow 2-3 weeks after the completion of your wedding event for the full gallery of all wedding pictures to be posted.
Why do I need a second photographer?
The short answer is, “you don't need one.” I will provide coverage of all major events and be sure to capture plenty of candid and spontaneous “moments” from start to finish.
Having said that, I am obviously only in one place at any one time. Electing a second photographer simply provides another experienced camera to capture the many moments of your special day.
For those that love pictures and want as many to choose from as possible, this can prove a worthwhile investment. However if you're on the fence in terms of your budget, or are hosting a relatively smaller, more intimate wedding, this may be an option you'd prefer to pass on.
When we hire you, are we actually hiring you?
Yes, you're hiring me – not an assistant, intern or my cousin and her PowerShot. If you opt to hire a second, you're hiring an additional photographer whose work I feel is up to my professional standards and who I work well with.
Be sure to ask when interviewing other photographers – you're not always talking to the person who would shoot your wedding!
How would you describe your style?
“Documentary” and “photojournalist” are some of the latest buzzwords and those describe me to an extent. But more than that, I will try to capture your wedding day artistically and in a way that best presents “you” and tells your story. Your love brought you together and your wedding pictures should tell this remarkable, unique and beautiful story not only for you, but your generations to come.
What is your retouch policy?
Let's face it; zit happens. While Photoshop has its limits, I am generally able to retouch blemishes and the like for up to 100 pictures of your choosing at no cost. Should you elect to purchase an album(s), any photos printed in the album will likewise be retouched to the extent reasonably possible.
What differentiates your work?
The wedding photography industry is evolving at an exciting pace, thanks in large part to the advancements we've seen in digital cameras. However, all of the high-tech gear in the world won't make a photographer any better or worse than his or her competitors; cameras are tools and nothing more. There are artists of every variety and frankly there are photographers out there who shoot a style similar to my own. So if you already like my work, then the following becomes really important:
First, I pride myself on prompt and reliable customer service. Your wedding pictures will remain an important and lasting legacy of one of the most special days you will experience together! I take great pride in treating your wedding as if it was as important as my own and communicating with you throughout planning stages to ensure that you will receive exactly the pictures and services you want.
I am personable and easy to work with, offer a no-pressure, “a la carte” approach to pricing, am insured (in the very unlikely event of a problem) and I carry plenty of backup equipment to ensure that there won't be any unpleasant surprises!
Second, I love photography and am passionate about continuing to advance myself as an artist.
How did you get into wedding photography?
How many pictures can I expect to receive?
I prefer quality to quantity, but I shoot for both. Though quantity can vary based on a couple of things (e.g. length of dinner: you probably don't want pictures of your uncle eating a roll), I generally average about 200-250 pictures an hour.
